Move faster with a personal loan

Wednesday March 19, 2008

If you need to move house faster than you would like, or maybe just faster than you thought you could, then consider taking out a personal loan to cover household setup expenses. Just because you can't afford everything right now doesn't mean you need to go without. As long as you can afford to pay off a sufficient personal loan to cover what you can't afford at the moment, then you may as well enjoy your new home now and pay later.

You can take out a personal loan to cover the costs of many of the high price items that are necessities to staying comfortable in your new home. Furniture for your bedroom, living room and kitchen is hard to go without for any period of time. Additionally, so are essential white goods such as fridges, microwaves and washing machine. A personal loan to cover these items should not be thought of as a luxury. You may be paying interest on them, but this can be considered a light premium for having them sooner rather than whenever you can save enough to pay for them up front.

While many furniture stores offer long interest free periods on loans to buy their furniture, this is generally just a method to convince you not to shop around, and to overspend. As you are unlikely to take out loans at multiple stores, the store you have a loan with relies on you buying all your goods from them, possibly charging higher prices than you could get elsewhere for some pieces. For flexibility and bargaining power, you are probably better off taking out a personal loan, so that you can actually barter with the stores.
