No Hats, No Hoods, No Sunglasses at Florida banks

Tuesday January 22, 2008

Customers walking into a bank looking for a personal loan in Florida will have to take off their sun glasses, hat or hoods as the Florida Bankers Association in conjunction with law enforcement agencies attempts to crack down on the growing number of bank hold-ups.

FBA President and Chief Executive Officer Alex Sanchez said, the program called "No Hats, No Hoods, No Sunglasses," is an initiative to help not only scale down the number of robbery attempts but to also catch bank robbers.

"We're going to be proactive by implementing policies and technology that will help prevent robberies and apprehend robbers if attempts are actually made."

Florida banks were robbed 361 times last year, a 40 percent increase on the previous 12 month period.

It seems the technology to manufacture pop up screens hasn't made it's way to America yet.
